July 4, 2024. Despite the intense heat and humidity, over 1,400 runners braved the elements to compete in the 48th annual Firecracker Fast 5K in Little Rock!. Leading the pack was Pete Johnson, a Texas native and University of Central Arkansas track and field and cross country athlete, who claimed victory in the men’s race with an impressive time of 14 minutes and 53 seconds. On the women’s side, Megan Taylor of Cave Springs, running for the Arkansas Track Club, celebrated a personal best by winning in 16 minutes and 56 seconds. Rock City Running runners had a great showing at the Firecracker Fast 5K. Congratulations to all the runners who participated.
